Happy Birthday Ruby!

My best friend's little girl turned one yesterday. I made these cards as invite to her birthday party that was on Saturday. Just like Fiona Ruby's party was a cupcake party. (Apparently cupcakes are the new big thing.) I made these when Rebecca came to help me finish all of the pieces for my brothers wedding. It was sort of strange to be making something for someone and they be standing in front of you. Luckily she is a really good friend and didn't mind.

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, Hugs & Wishes, Stampin' Around Cupcakes
Paper: Cameo Coral, Lavender Lace, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink: Cameo Coral, Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, Pink Pirouette
Tools Used: Stampin' Write Markers, Blender Pens

PS: How do you like my watermark? I finally figured out how to make one. Yeah!

Happy Birthday Fiona

Here is the card I made for my mom to give to her best friend's grand-daughter. Fiona just turned one and had a cup cake themed birthday party. Since my mom knew this ahead of time she had me make a card using "Crazy for Cupcakes". I even stamped a little cupcake on the envelope.

I love this set and this will likely be the first of many birthday cards posted using this set.

Ink: Lovely Lilac, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral, So Saffron, Riding Hood Red

Pardon Our "Dust"

I am working on the layout of my blog to make it better. Unfortunately I can only work on it in little bits. So things may look a little off for a while. I am almost finished with all of the miscellaneous pieces needed for the day of the wedding. I will post the whole ensemble when I finish them.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Color Challenge

Here is a card I made for Belinda's Color Challenge. (Visit her blog Here.)I have made a resolution with myself to participate in more card challenges. I very often get in an uninspired mood. As I was catching up on my blog reading in Google Reader Belinda's was the first challenge I came across. This challenge was very difficult for me because I have to admit I am very sick of Chocolate Chip and Mellow Moss since they are about the only colors I have looked at this whole summer. I could hardly believe the first challenge I went to do had not one but both colors. I found it very comical, but I digress. I made this card with my Dad in mind. (So Mom don't show this to him.) He turns sixty this year and I always have a hard time creating masculine cards. I am not sure if this will be the card I send him but I still have a few weeks to decide.

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, Happy Everything
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Mellow Moss, Riding Hood Red
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Mellow Moss, Riding Hood Red
Tools Used: Stamp-a-ma-jig, SU Markers, Blender Pens

Grrr... Where are my pictures.

I have no idea what happened. My second blog post from the other night had a couple of really great pictures & even though they were in the preview of my post they didn't make it to the final post. I unfortunately don't know enough about blogging and HTML to figure out how to get them put back in. I need to get the new SU catalog put in the side bar & I don't know how to do that either. I guess my goal for the fall will have to be to learn HTML. I want to thank everyone who left me comments about the wedding invitations. They really were a lot of work but it was well worth it to do it for my brother. Work has been crazy & I really hope to have some time to stamp this weekend. I really struggle sometimes to be inspired. I seem to never know what to stamp unless I have an occasion. (I should have lots of great things when it gets closer to Christmas.) Well I am off to return the favor and go comment on some of my SU Bloggers Groups' blogs.

Until later,

Kat

August Stamping

After I finished making all of the invites it was on to the Thank You notes. I made 150 if these as well although I only had to stamp three images for this card. These took less time to make but unfortunately I have had to travel more for work and I didn't have as much time to make them.

Thank goodness for the stamp-a-ma-jig. I never could have made these or the invite without one. I stamped the image on some cardstock vellum and marked the edges of the paper on the vellum & then used the samj. By marking the edge of the paper on the vellum I was able to make sure that the images were just about in the same place every time. There is a slight bit of variation but it works really well over all. If you don't own one call your Satmpin' Up demo right now and order one. It is the best tool I have ever owned.

Well I better go I have table cards, menu cards, table numbers and programs left to stamp. I am glad this wedding is in just over a month.

Wish me luck.

My Summer

This is what I worked on almost all summer. My brother is getting married in October and I made their wedding invitations. I started in June and finally finished them at the end of July.

In addition to the invite itself, there were four enclosures, the front closure and the inner envelope to stamp. All in total I stamped eight images for each complete invitation. I made 150 of these so stamped 1200 images just for the inviations! I am so luck that my husband work for Lexmark printers and we have a really nice color laser printer that enabled me to be able to print all of the pieces for these invitations. With a little trial and error I was able to match the printing to SU's Chocolate chip.

I am not even done you can see my next post to see what I worked on the month of August.

Let the Wedding Madness Begin

My brother is getting married in October and I very graciously decided to make the wedding invites. So that is what I have been working on all summer. This little book is one of the first non invitation things I have had time to make. I made this for Shea to keep track of all of their wedding gifts with. I made it to match their wedding invites which are Mellow Moss & Chocolate Chip. The invites are all made with this one stamp from the retired hostess set "Garden Silhouettes".

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes, In the Loop Alphabet
Paper: Vanilla, Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip
Tools Used: Stamp-a-ma-jig

Mini Notebook

I made this for one of the girls at work. Her dad has been really sick & since he lives out of state she hasn't been able to be with him. I thought this might cheer her up.
For this I used some of the retiring designer series paper "Cutie Pie", I love this paper & I hate to see it go. I'm sure there will be something great in the new catalog to replace it.

Stamps: In the Loop Alphabet
Paper: Cutie Pie DSP, Bashful Blue, Rose Red, So Saffron

Happy Birthday 'Lores

My grandmother's birthday was Monday. This is the card I made for her birthday. I decided to use the new "Fresh Cuts" set from Stampin' Up. I am a little slow to use it since most demos got it along time ago. I thought this would be a perfect use for this set.

Goodness

Has it really been since march since I posted to my blog. My life has been kind of crazy with work and working on my house. So blogging got pushed to the side. I have been able to make a few cards & I will share them in the next few days. I am on vacation now and it is wonderful. We have come to Hilton Head Island with my husbands family and we are lucky enough to be in a condo that overlooks the ocean. I hope to post pictures of this soon too. Thanks for the patience.

Stationary

My grandparent's anniversary was on Sunday and I made them this stationary as a little present. They have asked me to design some stationary for them and I thought I would give them my test design as a gift. I even had an address stamp made for them so I can put their return address on the envelopes. I wasn't really sure the best way to wrap them so I used some 5/8" grosgrain ribbon and made a medallion for the front.

Stamps: Lovely Letters Alphabet, So Manny Scallops
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Note Cards & Envelopes
Ink: Brocade Blue, Real Red
Accessories: Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch

More Lincoln

Billy & I went to my parents house for Easter and my brother thought it would be funny if ever one signed Lincoln's "cast". Lincoln is doing better, especially after getting some of easter dinner. :) He goes back to the vet tomorrow so hopefully he won't have to wear a "cast" much longer.

So I know my blog has turned into being about Lincoln but this is all I have done since my life is consumed by work right now.

Poor Lincoln

So Lincoln gave us a little scare this morning. I was sitting in my office at home working & Lincoln was with me. I looked down at him & he had blood all over his foot. When I went to take a closer look I discovered that he had broken a toenail by chewing on it. Luckily our vet is open on Saturday mornings and they had me bring him right over. The bad thing is that they had to remove the nail and bandage his foot up. I am starting to thing my dog is accident prone. (This is not the first time we have rushed to the vet.) Oh well. We go back to the vet on Monday & they will look at it again to see if it is doing better & rebandage it. For now he is very pitiful looking.

I hope to get to make and post some new cards soon. Between work, Easter & the drama I haven't had time to make any cards.

Too small ???

Billy & I are dog sitting for one of my co-workers & Lincoln has decided he likes Taz's crate better than his own. Lincoln's crate is the larger one on the right. Taz has a little crate since he is a Chihuahua & half the size of Lincoln.

Easter Cards

I made these cards for my Mom to send to the members' of my parent's bible study for Easter. Mom asked that I make them all a bit different, so I picked six colors and six elements and rotated the colors around. (This is how an engineer tries to be creative.)

Anniverary Card

Here is the card I made for my grandparent's anniversary. The will be married 62 years on Sunday. I just got the "Just Celebrate" set from the Occasion Mini & the owl just called out to me. I saw this card on Angie Kennedy Juda's Blog, Chic 'n' Scratch. (I love her blog!) I knew I had to try this card as soon as I saw it. She used River Rock for the lighter color which I don't own yet so I substituted Sahara Sand. I think it turned out pretty well. I used the saying from the stamp on the inside which says "Whoo Hoo".

Stamps: Just Celebrate
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Choclate Chip, Sahara Sand, More Mustard Markers, Dimensionals

Our Big Snow

We got about four inches of snow just over a week ago. Can you believe it major snow in March. Well it was also the first snow that amounted to anything. Since Lincoln loves the snow we bundled up and drove up the road to the local dog park & let him loose. He ran like the wind & bunny hopped though the snow.

Here is another card I made for my mom. She has decided that she would much rather pay me than Hallmark to make her cards. Yeah Mom! I got the overall idea from a card I saw on the Stampin' Up website, but I had to make some changes.

Here is the card I made for Billy's Birthday. His birthday isn't for a couple of weeks but unfortunately he will be in China so I went ahead and premade his card so he can find it in his luggage when he gets there. I decided to try my hand at a Criss-Cross Card. I really tried to not make it too girly since he is away with the boys.
